Winemaking Note
The approach to this wine is all about protection. Gentle pressing to avoid any bitterness from the skins and minimal exposure to oxygen through the whole process ensures the retention of delicate fruit aromas and flavours. Fermentation is temperature controlled in stainless steel tanks with selected yeast strains. Post fermentation the wine is racked to barriques to mature and add texture.
For more than two decades renowned Central Victorian winery, Mitchelton has produced the Preece range of wines. The range is named in honour of Colin Preece, a pioneer of the Australian wine industry and Mitchelton’s founding winemaker.
Preece wines capture the simple pleasures of life in a bottle. We’ve kept it nice and easy – popular varietals, elegant wine styles and a fresh approach - to ensure you will enjoy Preece wines anytime, anywhere.
Our winemakers get up-close and personal with the vineyards; running Victorian dirt through their fingers and nurturing the vines to their very best. They let the grapes do all the talking.
